We are Andrew, Helen and of course our dog Roxy.
After years of working in the UK, we made the life changing decision to move to the beautiful Algarve and build a slower, more rewarding way of life.
Since moving to Portugal, we’ve renovated two properties of our own, giving us first hand experience of the challenges and rewards of improving homes here in the Algarve. It’s strengthened our understanding of local properties and reinforced our passion for creating beautiful, practical spaces.
Andrew has spent over 35 years perfecting his craft as a skilled carpenter and joiner. From bespoke furniture and fitted kitchens to complete home renovations, he believes that quality workmanship, honesty and attention to detail never go out of style. Every project is treated with care and pride as if it were his own home.
While Andrew brings ideas to life with his hands, Helen looks after the business behind the scenes, from everyday admin and customer enquiries to sharing our journey here in Portugal.
This website is more than just a showcase of our work. It’s a place where we share our projects, life in the Algarve and the everyday moments that come with building a business and a new life abroad.

Garden Renovation
Garden Renovation
When we bought the property, we inherited a number of mature bay trees that had been growing for many years. Their roots had become deeply intertwined with the old stone wall, extending underneath the wall and even beneath the house.
Being north-facing, our home can be particularly dark and damp during the winter months. The dense trees were blocking what little natural light we had.
What initially looked like a straightforward garden clearance turned into a much bigger project. The roots had to be carefully excavated without damaging the old stone wall or, more importantly, the property itself.
A huge thank you to Archie Construction for taking on the excavation and heavy ground clearance. Archie’s professionalism, experience and advice were invaluable in finding the safest way to tackle the deeply established roots without damaging our property.
The difference has been incredible. The garden has been opened up, the house has much more natural light and we now have a completely blank canvas to create something exciting and new.
